A Story from a Picture Book That Is Reaching Around the World

Dear Mommy / ママへ

This video playlist grew from the heartfelt wish of women who were deeply moved by the work of picture-book creator Megu:
“I want to share this message in my own language, too.”
From Japanese to English, Serbian, Greek, Spanish, French, Russian, and Portuguese, the story of Dear Mommy has been brought to life in different languages and voices.

What Might Babies Be Telling Us from the Womb?

The concept of prenatal memory has attracted growing interest in Japan through more than two decades of exploration by researchers and practitioners, including Dr. Akira Ikegawa.

Their work has contributed to a wider conversation in Japan about the possibility that babies may have experiences, awareness, and emotional responses before birth.

Rather than offering a single answer, Dear Mommy invites us to pause and consider a different perspective on the beginnings of life.

This May Be for You If...

💫 You would like to pause and listen to what your baby might be experiencing before birth.
💫 You are preparing for birth or parenthood and would like to cultivate a sense of connection and reassurance.
💫 You work in early childhood education or other educational fields and are interested in prenatal memory and the beginnings of life.
💫 You would like to encounter a universal message connecting mothers and children through the language of a picture book.
💫 You would like to spend a quiet moment with a film and listen more closely to your own inner voice.
💫 You are interested in connecting with people around the world through a shared creative project.

Babies may be sensing more than we realize.

When we pause to consider this possibility, the world may begin to look a little gentler.
